The Patches

Her first summer at camp, each camper will arrive with the official Somerset navy blanket, featuring our red logo and her embroidered name. Campers will bring their blankets back each summer, and, over time, this blanket will become the canvas that tells the story of a girl’s time at Somerset.

Every summer, campers will receive patches commemorating their bunks, teams, milestone trips, achievements in activities, and weekly recognition to those who have exemplified our rings. This one simple everlasting garment will forever remind a camper, long into adulthood, of the time she was a Bunny, the day she first water skied, slept under the stars, starred in a play, or the moment she discovered the true meaning of friendship.

There’s no “right” way to arrange your camper’s patches on her blanket. Some campers prefer circular groupings in different corners, while others like to line them up in rows.

One suggestion we do have is to keep all patches from a specific year together, ideally with or around the annual blue oval patch. Since only some patches include the year (notably team patches), every camper receives this blue oval patch as a reference point. Keeping all patches from the same year near it makes it easier to remember when she was in a certain cabin or celebrated a particular achievement.

However you choose to arrange the patches, you’ll end up with a spectacular keepsake filled with amazing memories!
